More Snow, Another Review

Phew! It hasn’t been a week since the last update. I shovelled snow this morning again.  This time it was heavier and it took me longer to clear the driveway.  I am so glad I am done.  I was out of breath when it was over. Title: 海で拾ったきみに捧ぐ Author: Sagami Waka Release Date: October 25, 2018 Publisher: Tokuma Shoten (CHARA Comics) I was going to review this in Japanese on my Tumblr site, but since Tumblr will probably reject the cover image I decided to write my review here in English.  I picked this title up as part of Chara Comics’ birthday fair which is held in the summer each year.  When you purchase books (manga or novels) from their list you can get an extra booklet of your choice (with short stories from three manga or novels depending on what you buy) and a random bonus small illustrated item.  I am glad I selected this title because I found the manga to be quite enjoyable. ...Continue reading→

Yes Ka No Ka Hanbun Ka theme song: Sekai to Kakurenbo

The BL novel Yes Ka No Ka Hanbun Ka was turned into an anime movie for BL Fes in December 2020 and the theme song single is available for purchase and download.  The theme song is titled Sekai to Kakurenbo 世界とかくれんぼ (Hide and Seek with the World) and is sung by the voice cast of the two main characters Abe Atsushi 阿部敦 (Kunieda Kei) and Kawahara Yoshihisa 川原慶久 (Tsuzuki Ushio).  The single comes with three songs: the theme song, the theme song sung by Abe Atsushi, and the theme song sung by Kawahara Yoshihisa.  It’s a pretty catchy song and the lyrics were written by the novel author so it fits the movie perfectly.  I am glad they kept the...Continue reading→

Title: 青とジェント Author: Akihira Shiro Release Date: August 3, 2020 Publisher: Taiyou Tosho (H&C Comics CRAFT series) I’ve always loved this manga-ka’s works and this one is no different.  It’s a very cute story and like usual it has a nice tempo to the flow of the story.  At first I wasn’t sure what to think of the main character Miura Naoki as he was pretty much trying to blackmail Ayama Kyoichi because he was living a rich good life compared to Naoki’s poor family. Naoki’s parents owned a restaurant when he was younger, and Kyoichi was the one who came to order them to move for a new development project. Snow Day, Review Day

I can’t believe it will be March in less than two weeks.  The days are going by so quickly and I thought 2021 just started. Well, it snowed last night and this morning, so I spent two hours shovelling snow.  By myself!  It was a good workout but by the end I was getting tired and just started piling snow to the side of the driveway instead of taking them up to the lawn at the front.  The driveway has become narrow by a few inches but cars will still fit so we are ok.  At least I think it’s ok. Kiyosumi is trying his very best to become Hibari’s family and trying to put away his other feelings for him, but Hibari has different feelings for Kiyosumi too.  One day when he returns from school Hibari finds Kiyosumi sleeping and kisses him. Title: ゆうづつは藍にとける Author: Aoi Aki Release Date: September 1, 2020 Publisher: Taiyo Tosho (H&C Comics ihr Hertz Series) If you are looking to read a slow paced but gentle BL manga, this is the one.  It reads like a piece of literature and the art is purely beautiful and detailed. It is certainly a pleasure to look at and is like an artbook, especially the chapter covers.  The manga-ka likes plants so there are plants sprinkled out throughout the manga.  This manga would be perfect for a BL beginner as it has absolutely no explicit scenes.  There is kissing, but it does not go beyond one character touching the other character in his dream.
