Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been busy recently and have not been reading much. Also, I was feeling really down the other day.  This was because Honto sent an email telling you that they are stopping overseas shipping.  They suggest using the proxy service Buyee, but I guess they don’t realize how troublesome it is and that it makes your purchases more expensive than it already is. And shipping itself is expensive to begin with especially because SAL is not available right now. Buying directly through Honto was really handy because since they ship overseas they did not charge you tax.  The tax would be charged by customs.  And they shipped by surface, SAL, airmail and EMS. ...Continue reading→

Author: Koishikawa Ao Release Date: June 24, 2020 Publisher: Gentosha Comics (Birz Comics Rutile Collection) If you are looking for a fairly light but relaxing read, this fairy tale-like manga is a good one to try out.  Looking at the cover, you see a wolf and a boy dressed in a red-hooded coat eating a red apple and it reminds you of your classic fairy tales.  It’s more of an original fairy tale that mixes in Asian and European characteristics.  The story takes place in the forest so there are lots of animals (including unicorns), mermaids and spirits or faeries, but the name of the boy that the story revolves...Continue reading→

Title: ミライの恋人 Author: Nanatsu Zono Release Date: July 25, 2019 Publisher: Kasakura Publishing (Cult Comics Equal Collection) I sampled a part of the first chapter on Pixiv and was curious what would happen next so I purchased this manga.  Mirai is the nickname of the main character (a misreading of his last name) and it could also mean “future”. The title translates to “Mirai’s Lover”.  This is the first time reading this manga-ka’s work and I will probably try her other titles too.  I really liked this one.  It’s very romantic and has enough mysteries to want you to read on.  Despite the mysteries, it is not a heavy subject matter and is pleasant to read. Title: 人でない狼 Author: 元ハルヒラ Release Dates:  January 10, 2020 (Vol. 1), January 9, 2021 (Vol. 2) Publisher: Libre Publishing (Be Boy Comics Deluxe) Moto Haruhira’s works are generally a sweet and relaxing read so I naturally picked up this title.  She is probably most known for being the manga-ka behind Koketsu Dining (Dining in the Tiger’s Den; Canna Comics) and Mauri to Ryu (Mauri and the Dragon; Be Boy Comics Deluxe). Both tend to be relatively slow paced stories and this one is no different.  I just finished reading Vol. 2 so I will review it along with Vol. 1. Lots of spoilers from here. Perfect Propose

Title: パーフェクトプロポーズ Author: Tsurukame Mayo Release Date: August 7, 2020 Publisher: Kaiousha (GUSH Comics) This is one example where I didn’t find the art style to be extremely attractive but the story and character’s lines made the manga more than worthwhile.  It had stunning reviews so I picked it up and I am glad I did.  The art style actually starts growing on you. This title rates pretty high on my list of “good reads” of 2020. If you like younger semes this manga is for you! I just left a FB group because I was told by the admin that I was shaming members. Someone recommended a manga and put a photo of an illegal site so I added a link to where you can read it officially. I never mentioned anything about the person reading illegally, although I do not take the argument that you are allowed to read illegal scanslations if you don’t have money. Apparently this group thinks that it’s ok to read illegally if you are a poor student. Don’t read manga if you don’t have money. I surely don’t. Most hobbies cost money. Tondemonai Ore no Alpha

Title: トンでもない俺のα Author: Fujisaki Moe Release Date: March 25, 2020 Publisher: Sankousha (Charles Comics) This was one manga I was not going to pick up since I it looked like it had a lot of smut content.  But I was tricked by, I mean attracted to it by the cute picture of the piglet on the cover of the special picture book-like booklet that it came with if you purchased from Animate stores. It turned out to be the most hilarious read of the year, although my assumption of the amount of smut was also true. My latest review is an omegaverse story and I thought I should add a description about it for those who are not familiar with it.  I will use this to link to every time I review an omegaverse manga.
